My old agency or web designer still has my accounts
Many owners find out only when they want to change something: the Google profile, the website or the domain is in someone else's name. Most of the time it's not bad intent. It's how they set it up.

What to ask for, in one short email
- To be made primary owner of your Google Business Profile.
- The login for your website, or for them to add you as an administrator.
- Your domain (your web address) moved to an account in your name, or the login to it.
Example
"Hi [name], thank you for your work. We're taking over our online accounts ourselves. Please make [your email] the owner of our Google Business Profile and our domain, and add us as an admin on the website. Thank you."
If they don't answer
for the Google profile, use Google's "Request access" (see "I lost access to my Google Business Profile"). For the domain, contact the company where it's registered and show you own the business.
Questions owners ask
Will my website go down if I take over?
Not if nothing is switched off. Take over the logins first, change providers later, if ever.
They say I must pay to get my accounts. Is that normal?
Your Google profile is free and yours. For the domain and website, check your contract.
Can you check what's in whose name?
Yes. Call (224) 369-4969. We'll tell you what to ask for.
