My customers say they can't leave a review

Last updated: Oct 2026

Google changes its screens from time to time. These steps match what we saw in Oct 2026.

Usual reasons

  • Your profile is new or was recently changed, and Google has temporarily limited reviews. This often lifts on its own.
  • The profile is suspended or not verified yet.
  • The customer isn't signed in to a Google account, or uses an account Google restricts.
  • You sent them a link to the wrong profile, for example a duplicate.

What to check

  1. Search your business name while signed out. Is there a "Write a review" button?
  2. Open your own review link on a phone that isn't yours.
  3. Make sure there is only one profile for your business.

Get your review link

sign in, search your business name, then choose "Ask for reviews" (or "Get more reviews") and copy the link.

Questions owners ask

Can I review my own business?

No. Owners and staff shouldn't review their own business.

How long do the limits last?

Google decides. Keep the profile complete and wait. Don't create a new one.

Can you check it?

Yes. The free check looks at what customers see on your profile.
