My business shows up twice on Google

Last updated: Oct 2026

Why it matters

customers see two listings with different hours, phones or reviews. Google may also suspend both.

Usual causes

an old address after a move, a listing made by a former manager, or one created automatically from public data.

What to do

  1. Find out which listing you control. Sign in at business.google.com and see which one appears.
  2. If you manage both: keep the one with the most reviews and correct information. For the other, contact Google Business Profile support and ask to remove or merge the duplicate.
  3. If you don't manage the extra one: open it on Google Maps, choose "Suggest an edit", then the option to report it as closed or a duplicate.

Don't delete the listing that has your reviews.

Questions owners ask

Will I lose the reviews on the duplicate?

They may not move over. Ask Google to merge, not just remove, if the duplicate has reviews.

Can I just ignore it?

Not for long. Customers call the wrong phone, and Google may treat the duplicate as a problem.

Can you sort it out?

Yes. We find every listing for your business and help you keep the right one.
